About Owan East, Nigeria
Owan East is a Local Government Area in Edo State, Nigeria. It is one of the six Local Government of Edo north which are collectively referred to as Afemai. Its headquarters is in the town of Afuze. Given the very fertile land and rich forest, the people of Owan East are mostly farmers, hunters and traders.
They are made up of Christians, Muslims and like most other African societies, traditional religion practitioners. Owan-East is bordered by Akoko-Edo LGA in the North, Etsako-West LGA in the East, Ekiti State in the West, Owan-West in the South-West, and Esan Central LGA/Uhunmwonde LGA in the South.
